Lauren Foss Goodman holds an MFA in Fiction Writing from UMass Amherst. She is the author of the novel “A Heart Beating Hard,” and is currently completing her M.Ed. in Learning, Media and Technology at UMass. Lauren teaches at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and works as an Educational Technology Consultant at UMass Amherst. Her favorite digital media tool is Google Docs for writing, sharing, and collaborating.

Allison Malinowski is a 7th - 9th grade History and Global Studies teacher at the Williston Northampton School in Easthampton, MA. She has her M.Ed from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is currently pursuing her Ph.D at UMass in the Teacher Education and School Improvement program. Her interest is in teaching with technology and how technology is used in schools to support student and teacher learning.

Weiyang Liu is a graduate student studying in Learning, Media and Technology M.Ed. Program at UMass Amherst. She has a M.S. degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from University of Rochester and one-year Chinese as Foreign Language teaching experience in Rochester, NY. During her teaching, she made pedagogical connections between Web 2.0 tools and classroom teaching. She believes that using digital tools is a creative way to empower talented students with limited language proficiency.

Mario Valdebenito is a passionate digital animator who graduated with High Honors from the Universidad Mayor, Chile. Mario has experience in several fields as a motion graphics designer, e-learning designer, book trailers creator, and TV series animator. Now in the United States, Mario is pursuing a M.Ed. in Learning, Media and Technology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Broadly speaking, his studies seek to understand the effects and potential benefits of incorporating technology in education. More specifically, he is interested in how video games and other audiovisual materials affect – and in some cases, motivate – students during the learning process.

Christopher Saccardo is a substitute teacher for Holyoke and Amherst Public Schools. He works with grades k-12 and is deeply invested in urban education reform. After graduation he plans to teach in New York City and then work to close the achievement gap present in the country.
